Details: 70 Virtual Hikes of the Columbia River Gorge is a hiking guide available on CD. Although it was programmed to operate in a Windows enviroment, it appears to work well on Mac also. The guide has all of the usual features of any printed hiking guide, but the additional features of over 2900 trail photos. These images are viewed by moving your cursor along the camera icons on the trails. The photos were actually taken at the location indicated and not some random shot. This guide includes a hike difficulty calculator and a calorie burn calculator. The CD also has an outstanding wildflower guide organized by color. The common names are used rather than the Latin names. The CD also has a beautiful 60 image screensaver, which is available in both standard and widscreen. All 60 photos are also availble in both formats to be used as desktop images.
