How to Put on Your Ice Cleats for Boots: 1. Each ice cleat has a stamped “FRONT” and “BACK” on the elastomer. Orient the FRONT of the ice cleats for shoes and boots with the toe of the footwear, and the cleats facing the ground. 2. Place the toe of the footwear into the largest opening of the elastomer. 3. Push the toe of the footwear as far forward toward the front toe wire of the cleat. 4. While holding the footwear with one hand, use the opposite hand to stretch the elastomer towards the heel of the footwear. 5. Pull the elastomer over the heel. 6. With the cleat installed on the shoe, evenly distribute the elastomer from front-to-back and side-to-side across the entire sole of the footwear. 7. Check the cleats are all oriented away from the sole of the footwear, and the chain links are not twisted or kinked. 8. Attach the security strap by looping it through one side of the elastomer, then over the top of the footwear, and finally to the opposite side of the elastomer. Storage and Usage: 1. Store clean, dry hiking spikes for boots in bag after use. 2. Not for use on hard concrete, tile, or wood surfaces. 3. Best used on icy, and light/medium snow surfaces.
