About the Author
Megan L. Franke, professor of education at UCLA, is a researcher engaged with teachers to support student participation and sense making. A recipient of the 2012 AERA Research into Practice Award, she was elected to the National Academy of Education in 2017.
Elham Kazemi is a professor of mathematics education at the University of Washington. She collaborates with schools to create professional learning communities where teachers learn from and with their students.
Angela Chan Turrou, a senior researcher at UCLA, works to support preservice and inservice teachers across preschool and elementary settings to deepen teaching with children’s mathematical thinking at its center.
