This is a 128GB USB 3.1 Portable SSD stick that is formatted and configured to work as a Tesla Dashcam and Sentry Mode recording device. All you need to do is plug it in, and your Tesla will start recording the video from the forward camera to the device. If needed, it will automatically delete recordings older than an hour. Every minute, a new file is created on the device.
NOTE: Sometimes when you plug it in your computer, it will say the drive is corrupted and needs to be fixed. This is because of the way the Tesla writes to the device. Simply select the Fix option, and you should be able to see all your files.
Important Note: The dashcam feature will only work with Model S and Model X made after August 2017, and all Model 3 cars. If you have a Model S or Model X that was made before August 2017, this will not work.
