Details: The FlexxiCore Passive Exerciser is an exercise machine designed for use in clinics and at home by users of all ages and fitness levels. It is an advanced version of a class of products often generically known as “chi machines”. The user simply lies down, placing their legs on a cushioned cradle, which the FlexxiCore’s heavy-duty motor swings smoothly from side to side. A rhythmic motion is created as the body naturally responds to the sideways oscillation. The FlexxiCore combines the therapeutic benefits of Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) with the energising effects of a simple type of exercise machine that originated in Japan. The Japanese have been practising what they affectionately call ‘goldfish exercise’ since the 1920s, both as an exercise form in martial arts such as aikido, and in therapies such as shiatsu. Then, about 25 years ago, they invented a simple but ingenious machine for use in the home, making this invigorating form of passive exercise easily accessible to anyone – regardless of their fitness level. These became popularly known as “chi machines” in the West.
