Our high quality wax brushes are a super important tool for both ski/ snowboard maintenance and for FAST surfaces. A good regime of brushing before and after waxing with different type brushes is essential for that perfect tune. For a great tune, you need three different bristle types- brass, horse hair and nylon brushes. Use a brass brush before you wax to clean out the the base ptex structure. Then hit with a horse hair brush to smooth the base before waxing. After waxing and scraping, run the nylon over the ski to get the base smooth and greasy looking with long strokes from tip to tail. Finish with the horse hair brush over the base and make sure there are no globs and that you can see the pattern from the stone grinder. A finished ski will shine and you will be able to see the pattern. Leave the thinnest layer of wax you can and and allow the texture/structure of the base to shine through! Brushes should be replaced when they get filled with wax, so depending on how often you wax, at least once a year.
