There is a flat spot on one of the cross-bolts. These can be reversed to work in different mounts particularly “weaver mounts” where the spacing between the slots varies

Caution for High-Profile Rails: This scope is optimized for guns with an approximate 2.0 to 2.5-inch distance from the center-line of scope to the center-line of barrel. If the rail on your gun is significantly higher than this, you may need something like a 20MOA picatinny riser to bring the impact point down.
Some Modern Sporting Rifles may have higher than normal center-line dimensions of bore to rifle scope. Weaver rails are common on tradition-style rifles (e.g. bolt-action or lever-action), don’t have a higher than normal condition, and should not require an adaptor.
