On the DVD side, the 10-bit digital-to-analog video converter is combined with carefully selected analog components to ensure accurate reproduction of the original DVD image. The EZ View letterbox eliminator enables the removal of the black letterbox bars on 4:3 TV screens with the push of a button on the remote control, while the Motion Zoom feature allows extreme magnification of selected screen areas, without distortion even as the movie is playing. The DVD-V4800’s analog L/R audio terminals provide Dolby Surround-encoded audio for superb stereo sound, or complete surround sound when connected to a Dolby Pro Logic receiver. The Phantom Surround Processor can be used to deliver a rich simulated surround-sound effect through just two speakers, and is ideal when the DVD-V4800 is connected to a traditional 2-channel stereo television.
The component-video output is the ideal way to connect to either your analog and digital televisions. The DVD-V4800 also has 2 composite-video inputs (1 front, 1 rear), 1 composite-video out, 1 RF out, and 1 coaxial digital and 1 optical digital audio out.
The DVD-V4800 is compatible with DVD movie and CD audio discs, as well as CD-R/RW discs with MP3 digital audio and JPEG image format files.
