Details: “I created this hand tool out of necessity for all woodworkers and craftsmen. I was building a 40′ catamaran all by myself. Although I had every tool I needed, I did not have a simple way to stand up a board to work on it, whether to plane it, drill it, sand it, glue it, or any of the other things I needed an extra hand for. I looked everywhere and I couldn’t believe that nothing existed. I could get any number of vises, but they are heavier and oriented inconveniently and many other drawbacks that the C-clamp design doesn’t have. So, in casting two c-clamps transverse to each other, I had what I needed. The old saying proved true, you only invent something when you need it yourself. It worked for me, with a bunch of my clamps, building my boat without anybody’s help became a lot easier, and I created something I could patent and offer to other woodworkers, craftsmen, handymen, and builders, to be used in the shop and easily in the field. Maxclamp is a tool you need on your bench and in your toolbox, and it’s helpful to have two or more. Designed in the USA, and made to an exact spec in China, it is cast ductile steel, 2 pounds, has removable anti-scratch pads, and is very easy to secure to any workbench.
