About the Author
John D. Hosler is associate professor of military history at the Command and General Staff College at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. His other books include John of Salisbury: Military Authority of the Twelfth-Century Renaissance (Brill, 2013), and Henry II: a Medieval Soldier at War, 1147-1189 (Brill, 2007). He lives in Kansas City, KS.
