Details: The water inlet valve is a typically closed valve, so when power is given to the coil, the valve opens. Once opened, water is allowed to come into the water trough of the ice machine. If the valve is not working properly, it could be caused by a few issues. It’s possible the valve is not receiving power, therefore it will not open to allow water in. Next, if water is always flowing, even when power is cut to the machine, then the water valve may be stuck open. Sometimes it’s possible to clean the guts of the valve, rather than replace. However, over time the rubber seals and plunger of the valve will deteriorate and need replacement. At this time there is no Manitowoc repair kit for valves, a complete replacement is necessary.
